2015 SEASON

2015 notes;
  •   Less is ALWAYS more... Limit Formations,concepts, and personnel groupings in order to become GREAT at what you truly want to accomplish offensively.

  •  Gap schemes (TRAP, POWER, BUCK SWEEP, COUNTER TREY) are extremely vulnerable to heavy run through defenses.  Gap schemes provide LBs and DL with the opportunity to "blow up" plays despite how well blocking schemes are coached.

  • Man schemes (inside zone, ISO, outside zone) sort themselves out against heavy run through defenses.

  • 4 & 5 read progressions for high school QBs are a waste of time.  Keep things simple for the QB. .   Give them 2 read progressions and tell them to get rid of the ball or pull it down and run.

  • When trying to establish QB run game in the spread offense, move the RB, H BACK, and lead blocker around in order to prevent defense from slanting/adjusting to RB alignment.

  • PLAY THE NEXT PLAY!! Do not dwell on past physical mistakes, Players know they messed up.  Simply move forward and address physical mistakes during film time.
